Uluwatu’s best bars

Shaken, stirred, blended or muddled — however you like your cocktails, there’s no shortage of mixology magic in Bali and plenty of stunning spots to enjoy them.

Laidback, sophisticated and elegant, whether you’re searching to get away from the thumping music or looking for a late night dancing underneath the moonlight, the bars in this tropical haven caters to all travellers.

Thanks to the area’s rugged cliffs, most venues in Bali’s southern tip offer jaw-dropping vistas of the Indian ocean, but there are a few stand-out destinations to sip cocktails and enjoy internationally renowned DJs playing great music.

Rock Bar

Perched atop distinctive rock formations along Uluwatu’s pristine western coastline, Rock Bar Uluwatu is one of the top locations for sunsets, creative cocktails, and entertainment.

Showcasing unparalleled views of the Indian Ocean, Rock Bar is accessible via AYANA Resort and Spa’s dramatic cliffside funicular. Once you’ve arrived, what lies before you is a truly uplifting and gorgeous setting. Featuring a glamorous sunset vibe, and a seductive after-dark ambience, a custom DJ booth is carved directly into the cliff face, along with a scattering of tables that view the sensational vistas that lie beyond, and a compressive bar set against the beautiful horizon.

The location is not the only thing ‘on the rocks’. Signature cocktails are served in chic glasses suspended in natural stone, within an ingenious fish-bowl base. If you’re hungry, rock bar offers delectable tapas served on natural stone plates to match your tipple of choice.

The 360-degree vantage point means it’s natural to peer out towards the skyline and the bobbing fishing boats that weave their way across the shimmering ocean waves. Rock Bar is the perfect destination for a romantic rendezvous, unforgettable gatherings with friends, and spectacular events.

Mana Restaurant and Bar

Mana Uluwatu is a relatively new addition to the iconic cluster of breathtaking bars along Uluwatu’s coastline.

Opened in 2018, this jubilant and relaxing environment of wooden floors, white beams and gorgeous overhanging lighting opens up to reveal the ever-flowing bay and the ever-changing horizon. Come to enjoy the spectacular views, hang for soulful meals and top-tier cocktails.

The food is simple, yet effortlessly effective. In true surfer style, the restaurant is all about wholesome, nourishing bites from both land and sea. The tacos are the stand-out dish on the menu and they typify this restaurant’s philosophy where the finer details make all the difference to your culinary experience.

Expert mixologists are on hand to prepare a host of exotic drinks that tremendously complement your tropical surroundings. Of course, Mana does a classic margarita very well indeed, but why not try something more exotic? From a ‘Hibiscus Margarita’, with rosella infused Jose Cuervo Tequila, hibiscus syrup and pineapple juice, to a ‘Roots Rock Mojito’, with rum, red chilli, lemongrass, ginger, roots syrup, lime and mint, there’s so much to choose from.

As well as a selection of wines, you can also sample a host of craft beers hand-picked from across the Pacific, including Anderson Valley Ales and Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA.
